Solomons Alpha Centauri.

This lovely boy is Alpha. He was the first cria on the farm; not born here, but only just! He was born a month before he and his mum were purchased by us, so I don’t expect he remembers his first home.
He has the softest fibre of any of our alpacas. It is dense and crimpy so should process beautifully. I just love the warm pinkish grey colour. Someday I hope to have a jumper made out of it.
Last year, 2020 should have been his debut. He was destined to go to many shows, win ribbons, and evidence his standing as a superior herd sire so we could use him to both cover our females to improve the quality of the next generation, but also to provide some income for the farm. Sadly, as with so many things, this couldn’t happen due to covid19. In fact there are no shows scheduled in the near future.
Still, it won’t prevent him becoming a dad in the near future. He is only two this year and may not be ready yet, but we will introduce him to some ladies in May, and see if he’s willing.
He carries superior genetics; his mum was a show winner in her time and his paternal grandfather is Alpaca Stud Nyetimber, one of the best ever grey stud males in the UK.
Fingers crossed he will pass some of that quality on to his offspring. Can’t wait to see them!!!
