Felicia.

This foxy lady is Rushmere Felicia. Her sire was about the best grey alpaca male ever in the UK. He won a total of 27 championships, two reserve champions and almost countless first places in shows all over the country. What is more he continued to win into middle age, which is very unusual as alpacas tend to lose the quality of their coat as they age. An extraordinary male stud without doubt.
Felicia didn’t do so bad herself, with lots of ribbons including a reserve championship to her name. As a breeding female though, she was only shown until she was three, so she could get on with producing tomorrows winners!
Felicia has two daughters here at Solomons Alpacas; Arizona and Boo both of whom you will meet soon. There will not be one this year though, as she is having a year off from being pregnant. There is an assignation with our black male, Tiberius, planned for May. I can’t wait to see the cria from that meeting. Very exciting.
What the photo doesn’t show you is Felicia’s character.
She is brave and confident, quite unalpaca like really! She is first to come and see any visitors, and first to rush to the fence if there is a bird or deer or squirrel somewhere to be seen. She is also always first to any food that might be going. She’s a girl after my own heart; loves her food.
Shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone, but she’s my favourite!
